Joy Lewis

I chose TCU because of how welcoming and passionate the community is. When I visited for Chancellor’s Scholars weekend, I was amazed at how happy and welcoming all of the students and faculty were. People at TCU truly want to see you succeed and thrive. I also remember the Honors Preview Night and how intrigued I was with the different courses offered and how they truly pushed students to be critical thinkers and empathetic leaders. Students who leave TCU are prepared to change the world for the better. My parents took me on a lot of college tours as a kid but I remember just truly feeling happy when I walked across this campus and I knew that this is where I wanted to be. Once I was awarded the Chancellor’s Scholarship, there was no doubt that this was the place I belonged.

After graduation, I have hopes of attending medical school and becoming an orthopedic surgeon or dermatologist.
