Why I Chose TCU:
First, it was word of mouth that led me to TCU. My college journey got its start after a conversation that my parents and I had with my AP Language teacher at my high school’s Open House. She happens to be a Horned Frog alumna, whose husband is a TCU alumnus, and whose son is also a recent graduate of Burnett School of Medicine at TCU. The next thing that ensued was a guided campus tour that sparked the interest in me. However, the idea of being part of a beautiful campus and prestigious institution seemed far beyond my reach. Tuition cost was a big factor and my parents were quick to dissuade me from getting attached. TCU must be where God intends me to be. Had it not been for His goodness and the Chancellor’s Scholars Program that brought me to TCU, I would not be here. It is both a blessing and an honor. The more I get to know TCU, the more connected I feel. The level of support from the school community is amazing. Every single day brings positive experiences that are felt and shared, and I do find great joy in it.
Plans After Graduation:
I intend on furthering my studies in becoming a medical doctor. While it is a known fact that one needs to be competitive for medical school admission, working tirelessly until I achieve this goal is my plan. This is a personal motivation after a medical emergency hit my family. It was a team of doctors that kept my family of three together. I hope to also be that doctor whose patients’ lives will be better because of me attending to their care.
