Victoria Mata

I chose TCU because of the effort all the staff, students, and faculty put into make new students feel welcomed. When I first came to TCU for my scholarship interview, I was terrified of being excluded and not feeling comfortable. However, having experienced the Chancellor's Scholars Experience changed my whole perspective. I loved how everyone made me feel welcomed and how positive everyone was. It was like a breath of fresh air.

After graduation I want to go to Medical School and become Dr. Victoria Mata. Not only to be able to open a practice of my own, but to be able to ensure healthcare and an improved access to resources for all. I want to become someone that utilizes my own experiences and field of study to help subsidize the pressing issue of gentrification and socioeconomic prejudices that exists in many places of the world.
