Why I Chose TCU:

I chose TCU due to our Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies Program, which at the time I applied was the only one in the state of Texas. I was immediately drawn to the courses they offered, ranging from a variety of topics like Black Satire to Black Life and Resistance. This displayed to me the that the program had been carefully cultivated with care and intention and I knew that my education within the CRES department would be the same.

Plans After Graduation:

I'm going to pursue a doctoral program. I'm in the process of deciding what institution will best suit my academic and creative desires, so I haven't narrowed down the university that I'd like to attend, but I know I'm going to research Black Queer Studies, body politics, visual culture, and embodiment studies. However, through my research I intend to center my community and make my work accessible to all.
